Make Room for Love

Joe Cephus Bingham Sr.

In a busy world, we strive to achieve more and protect our hearts. We often fill our lives with so much that there is little space left for love.

But love requires space—emotional, mental, and spiritual. It asks us to clear out bitterness, let go of past hurts, and silence the noise of fear and doubt. Making room for love means being open instead of guarded. It’s about kindness, not criticism. Focus on what matters, and don’t get sidetracked.

Love for God, for others, or even for ourselves can’t flourish where cluttered hearts exist. We may need to unlearn old thoughts, let go of bad habits, and ask God to heal our wounds.

So today, ask yourself: What do I need to let go of to make room for love? Is it resentment? Fear? Pride? Busyness?

Love doesn’t demand perfection—it simply asks for space.
